Why Busan works well for skin treatment

Busan has a large number of dermatology and aesthetic clinics, especially around Seomyeon, the city's central shopping and transport hub. For visitors, it can be a convenient alternative to Seoul: you can combine treatment with beaches, food and sightseeing, and many clinics now welcome international patients. The challenge is choosing well. This guide brings together the three main steps: picking treatments, comparing prices and booking safely.

Step 1: Choose treatments by concern, not trend

Korean skin treatments are often discussed by brand name, but it is more useful to start with your concern:

  • Fine lines and expression wrinkles. Botox is commonly used for forehead, frown and eye lines.
  • Square jaw or bulky muscles. Jaw Botox and body Botox for calves, trapezius, thighs or arms.
  • Mild sagging and loss of firmness. Lifting devices such as Ultherapy Prime, Sofwave, Thermage FLX, Titanium, Shurink Universe, ONDA or InMode.
  • Volume loss and contour. Fillers, or collagen stimulators such as Juvelook and Sculptra.
  • Dullness, dryness and texture. Skin boosters such as Water Glow, Exosome and Rejuran, and treatments such as Aquapeel and LDM.
  • Pigmentation and melasma. Laser toning such as Pico Light Black Toning, and other approaches a doctor may suggest.
  • Acne scars and pores. RF microneedling such as Potenza and fractional lasers.
  • Unwanted hair. Laser hair removal with GentleMax Pro or Fotona Avalanche.

A doctor will confirm which option suits your skin, and may suggest something different from what you had in mind. Suitability and results vary.

Step 2: Compare prices carefully

Prices in Korea can look very different between clinics. When you compare, check what is actually included:

  • VAT. Published prices may exclude the 10% VAT, which is added at payment.
  • Shots, units and volume. Compare 300 shots with 300 shots, 50 units with 50 units, 2cc with 2cc.
  • First-visit versus regular prices. Some prices apply only once per new patient.
  • Extras. Tips, numbing, consumables and follow-up sessions may be charged separately.
  • Doctor involvement. Whether a physician consults and performs the treatment.
  • Product brand. Local and imported products can differ in price.

A very low price is not automatically a problem, and a high price is not automatically better. Differences between areas such as Seomyeon, Haeundae or Seoul usually reflect rent, staffing, device costs, brands and how much time the doctor spends with each patient. What matters is understanding exactly what you are paying for. When you message clinics, ask for a written list of the items, quantities and whether VAT is included, so you can compare quotes on the same terms.

Example listed prices at Daybeau Clinic Seomyeon

For reference, these are some first-visit prices at Daybeau Clinic Seomyeon, in KRW with VAT excluded (10% VAT added at payment), checked October 2026:

  • Wrinkle Botox. Korean toxin, 1 area: 3,000 KRW.
  • Jaw Botox. 50 units: 9,900 KRW.
  • Rejuran. 2cc: 139,000 KRW.
  • Pico Light Black Toning. 29,000 KRW.
  • Shurink Universe. 300 shots: 55,000 KRW.
  • Ultherapy Prime. 300 shots: 990,000 KRW.
  • Laser hair removal, underarms. GentleMax Pro, women: 1,000 KRW per session.

Fillers, threads, Juvelook, Sculptra and Thermage FLX are quoted after consultation. The full list is on the price list.

Step 3: Book safely

  • Choose a physician-led clinic. A doctor should assess you and confirm the plan.
  • Check language support. Make sure you can communicate clearly about risks and aftercare.
  • Share your history. Mention medication, allergies, pregnancy or breastfeeding, and past treatments.
  • Book early in your trip. Leave time for recovery and any follow-up before your flight.
  • Ask about products. Know which brands, units and shots are used.
  • Keep records. Save product names, dates and the clinic's contact details.
