Can You Fly After Rejuran, Botox or Filler Injections in Korea?

A common question for medical-aesthetic travellers
Many international visitors have injectable treatments in Korea near the end of their trip, then fly home within a day or two. It is natural to wonder whether flying soon after Rejuran, Botox or filler is a problem. The general picture is reassuring for many people, but the answer depends on the treatment, the area treated, how your body responds and your personal health. The doctor who treats you is the right person to advise on your specific situation.
This guide explains the general considerations for each type of injection, how to plan your treatment date around your flight, and what to watch for during and after travel.
What can change in the air
Commercial aircraft cabins are pressurised, but to a lower pressure than at ground level, and the air is dry. Long flights also mean sitting for extended periods. For most people after minor injections, this does not cause problems, but a few practical points are worth knowing:
- Swelling may feel more noticeable. Some people notice that existing swelling feels a little puffier during or after a flight.
- Dry cabin air. Freshly treated skin can feel tight or dry.
- Limited ability to follow up. Once you are home, it is harder to return to the clinic that treated you if you have a question.
Flying after Botox
Botox injections are small and quick, and many travellers fly after wrinkle or jaw Botox without difficulty. Common short-term effects include small injection marks or minor bruising. The effect develops gradually over the following days.
- Avoid pressing or massaging the area. Be careful with travel pillows, eye masks or tight headwear pressing on treated areas, especially right after treatment.
- Follow the usual early aftercare. Clinics commonly advise avoiding lying flat, saunas and heavy exercise for a short period.
- Check results later. Because the effect takes time to appear, ask how to contact the clinic if you have questions once you are home.

Flying after Rejuran and other skin boosters
Rejuran and similar skin boosters are injected as many small deposits into the skin. Small bumps at injection points are common for a short period, and bruising is possible.
- Plan for visible bumps. If you want to look settled on arrival, allow time between treatment and flying.
- Keep skin hydrated. A gentle moisturiser recommended by the clinic helps with dry cabin air.
- Avoid touching your face. Clean hands and minimal contact reduce the chance of irritation.
Flying after dermal filler
Filler requires the most caution of the three. Swelling and bruising are common and can vary considerably depending on the area, for example lips or under the eyes. Fillers also carry rare but serious medical risks, including vascular complications, which need prompt medical assessment.
- Discuss your flight with the doctor before treatment. The doctor may suggest leaving more time between filler and flying, especially for a long-haul journey.
- Know the warning signs. Severe or increasing pain, skin colour changes such as blanching or dusky patches, or any vision changes after filler need urgent medical attention, wherever you are.
- Keep the clinic's contact details. Ask how to reach the clinic after you return home.

Planning your treatment date and prices
- Schedule injectables early in the trip when possible, so swelling or bruising begins to settle before you fly.
- Tell the clinic your flight time when booking and again at consultation.
- Move during long flights. Stand and walk when it is safe, and drink water.
