What people mean by a Korean glass skin facial

"Glass skin" describes skin that looks smooth, clear and luminous, as if light reflects evenly off its surface. It became popular through K-beauty, and many visitors to Korea now ask clinics for a "glass skin facial". In a medical clinic, this is usually not a single treatment but a combination chosen for your skin: a deep-cleansing peel, a skin booster for hydration, and sometimes a gentle laser or regeneration treatment for tone and texture.

Because it is a combination, there is no single price. A light refresh before a night out costs very differently from a plan aimed at hydration, tone and texture over several sessions, so knowing the building blocks lets you budget for your own goals. This guide explains the typical components, the published prices at Daybeau Clinic Seomyeon in Busan, and how to plan a budget.

Typical building blocks of a glass skin plan

A doctor will tailor the plan to your skin type, concerns and timeline. Common elements include:

  • Cleansing and exfoliating peel. Removes dead skin and congestion so the surface looks smoother.
  • Skin boosters. Injectables that support hydration and skin quality, which contribute much of the dewy look.
  • Toning laser. Used for uneven tone or dullness in suitable skin types.
  • Regeneration treatment. Gentle energy-based care intended to calm and support the skin.
  • Home care. Moisturiser and sunscreen to maintain results.

Example combinations and how to total them

These examples only show how prices add up. They are not recommendations; the doctor decides what suits you at consultation.

  1. Light refresh. Aquapeel steps 1 and 2 (9,900 KRW) plus LDM regeneration (19,000 KRW) totals 28,900 KRW before VAT.
  2. Hydration focus. Aquapeel (9,900 KRW) plus Water Glow 2cc (39,000 KRW) totals 48,900 KRW before VAT.
  3. Tone and hydration. Aquapeel (9,900 KRW), Pico Light Black Toning (29,000 KRW) and Exosome 2.5cc (49,000 KRW) total 87,900 KRW before VAT.
  4. Skin quality focus. Aquapeel (9,900 KRW) plus Rejuran 2cc (139,000 KRW) totals 148,900 KRW before VAT.

Add 10% VAT to any total. Whether treatments can be combined on the same day depends on your skin, and the doctor will advise.

What affects how well a glass skin plan works

A realistic view helps you choose wisely:

  • Your starting skin. Active acne, rosacea-type redness or melasma may need a different approach first.
  • Number of sessions. Many effects build over a course of treatments; one session may give a refresh rather than a transformation.
  • Sun protection. Daily sunscreen protects results, especially after lasers.
  • Lifestyle. Sleep, hydration and a gentle skin care routine all play a part.

Results vary and are not guaranteed. Common short-term effects include redness after peels or lasers, and small bumps or bruising after skin booster injections. These usually settle, but timing matters if you have an event. If you are pregnant or have a skin condition, consult a doctor before treatment.

Planning a glass skin treatment in Busan

If you are visiting for a short time, book a consultation early in your stay. Mention any recent retinoid or exfoliating acid use, as the doctor may adjust your plan around them. That gives time for injection bumps to settle before photos and allows the doctor to stagger treatments if needed. Daybeau Clinic Seomyeon is a short walk from Seomyeon Station, open Mon–Fri 10:00–20:00 and Sat 10:00–16:00, with consultations in English, Japanese and Korean.
