Juvelook for Enlarged Pores: What Results Can Patients Expect?

Why pores become more visible

Enlarged pores are a very common concern among visitors to Korean skin clinics. Pore size is influenced by genetics, oil production, skin thickness and age. As skin loses some firmness over time, the walls around pores can look less supported, which can make pores appear larger. Acne and congestion can also stretch the pore opening.

Juvelook, a Korean injectable combining polylactic acid (PDLLA) with hyaluronic acid, is sometimes discussed as one way to address the look of pores. This guide explains how it may help, what results are realistic and how it compares with other pore treatments.

How Juvelook may affect the look of pores

Juvelook is a collagen-stimulating skin booster. It is injected into the skin and is designed to support the skin's own collagen production over time. For pores, the general idea is:

  • Improved skin support. If the surrounding skin becomes firmer, pores may appear less prominent.
  • Smoother texture. Some patients notice skin looks more even, which can make pores less noticeable.
  • Gradual change. Any improvement usually develops slowly over weeks and may be clearer after more than one session.

It is worth being clear that pores cannot be permanently closed or removed. Treatments aim to make them look less visible, not to make them disappear.

What results patients can realistically expect

Results with Juvelook vary considerably. Points to keep in mind:

  • Subtle improvement is more common than dramatic change. Many people describe a softer, more refined look rather than a big difference.
  • Pore type matters. Pores enlarged mainly by oil production may respond differently from pores that look larger because of reduced firmness.
  • Several sessions may be discussed. Collagen-stimulating treatments are often planned as a course.
  • Daily habits still matter. Cleansing, oil control and sun protection all influence how pores look.

No specific result can be promised. A doctor will assess your skin and explain what may be realistic.

It also helps to know where your pores are most visible. Pores on the nose and inner cheeks are often linked to oil and congestion, while pores that look stretched or teardrop-shaped on the outer cheeks are more often associated with reduced firmness. Collagen-stimulating injectables are generally discussed more for the second type, while oily, congested pores may respond better to cleansing treatments, oil control and laser or microneedling. Bringing up these details during the consultation helps the doctor match the treatment to the cause.

Other pore treatments a doctor may discuss

Juvelook is not the only option, and sometimes it is not the first one. Depending on your skin, the doctor may discuss treatments listed on our price list(first-visit prices, KRW, VAT excluded, 10% VAT added at payment, checked October 2026):

  • Potenza full face. 99,000 KRW, RF microneedling often used for pores and texture; the tip is charged separately.
  • U-Pulse Fraxel. 25,000 KRW, a fractional laser treatment for texture.
  • Aquapeel steps 1 and 2. 9,900 KRW, a deep cleansing facial for congestion.
  • Capri laser steps 1–3. 89,000 KRW, a laser-based skin care option.

Juvelook itself is quoted after consultation because the amount of product varies. Some patients combine Juvelook with microneedling or laser, but whether this suits you is decided by the doctor. Read more on our enlarged pore treatment page and the Juvelook page.

Side effects and aftercare

After Juvelook, common reactions include small bumps, redness, mild swelling and bruising at injection points. These usually settle within a short time. Because Juvelook contains a collagen-stimulating ingredient, there is a possibility of small lumps or nodules. Follow your doctor's aftercare instructions closely, and contact the clinic if you notice firm lumps, increasing pain or anything unusual. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have an active skin infection or inflammatory acne, consult a doctor before treatment.

Supporting your results at home

Treatments work best alongside a consistent routine. Gentle, regular cleansing helps remove oil and debris. A lightweight moisturiser keeps the skin balanced, since very dry skin can sometimes produce more oil. Daily sunscreen protects collagen from sun damage. Avoid squeezing pores, which can cause irritation or marks.

Frequently asked questions

Can Juvelook shrink pores permanently?

No treatment permanently closes pores. Juvelook may help them look less visible by supporting skin firmness, but results vary and maintenance is usually needed.

Is Juvelook better than Potenza for pores?

They work differently. Potenza uses RF microneedling, while Juvelook is an injectable. The doctor will suggest which suits your skin, or whether a combination makes sense.

How long until I see a difference?

Changes tend to be gradual and may become clearer over several weeks. Your doctor can give a realistic timeline.
