What Potenza is

Potenza is a radiofrequency (RF) microneedling system. It uses fine needles that enter the skin to a controlled depth and then deliver radiofrequency energy at the needle tips. The combination creates tiny, controlled areas of injury and heat beneath the surface. The skin's natural repair response to this process is what people hope will improve texture over time.

Compared with microneedling alone, adding radiofrequency energy allows heat to be delivered deeper into the skin while limiting damage to the surface. Different tips can be used depending on the concern and skin type, which is one reason Potenza is often discussed for more than one issue, including acne scars and enlarged pores.

Acne scars: what Potenza may help with

Acne scars come in different forms, and they respond differently to treatment. In general terms:

  • Rolling scars. Broad, gently sloping depressions that can make the skin look uneven. These are commonly discussed for RF microneedling.
  • Boxcar scars. Wider depressions with sharper edges. Some people see improvement, but a combination approach is often considered.
  • Ice pick scars. Narrow, deep scars that can be harder to improve with any single treatment.
  • Raised scars. Thick or raised scars usually need a different plan, and a doctor should assess them.

Improvement in scarring tends to be gradual and partial rather than complete. Many people need a series of sessions, and the number depends on scar type, depth and how the skin responds. Your doctor will give a realistic plan after examining your skin. Read more on our Potenza page and our acne and scars overview.

Pores and texture

Enlarged pores are influenced by oil production, skin thickness, genetics and loss of firmness around the pore. Potenza is sometimes considered because the repair response may help the skin look smoother and more refined. Results vary, and pores are rarely eliminated, but some people notice that their skin texture looks more even. Potenza may also be discussed for active acne in some cases, depending on the tip used and the doctor's assessment.

For pores, Potenza is one of several options. Treatments such as Aquapeel or other lasers may be combined or used instead. See our enlarged pore treatment page.

Potenza cost at Daybeau Clinic Seomyeon

At Daybeau Clinic Seomyeon, Potenza full face is listed at 99,000 KRW, with the tip not included. Potenza tips are charged separately, and the tip used depends on your skin and treatment goals, so the total is confirmed at consultation. This is a first-visit price in KRW, VAT excluded (10% VAT added at payment), checked October 2026. First-visit prices apply once per new patient per item.

Other treatments sometimes discussed alongside Potenza for scars and texture include:

  • U-Pulse Fraxel. 25,000 KRW.
  • Aquapeel steps 1 and 2. 9,900 KRW.
  • LDM regeneration mode 6 minutes. 19,000 KRW.
  • Rejuran 2cc. 139,000 KRW.

Whether any of these suit you is decided by the doctor at consultation. Payment is made on the day of treatment after the consultation confirms your plan. See the full price list.

Downtime and side effects

RF microneedling causes controlled injury to the skin, so some recovery is expected. Common effects include:

  • Redness and swelling. Usually most noticeable for the first day or so and then settling.
  • Tiny marks or a rough texture. Small grid-like marks from the needles may be visible for a short time.
  • Dryness or flaking. As the skin recovers, it may feel dry.
  • Sensitivity. Skin may feel tender and react more easily to products and sun.
  • Pigment changes. In some skin types, temporary darkening can occur, which is one reason sun protection is important.

Less commonly, infection, prolonged redness or scarring can occur. Tell your doctor about active skin infections, cold sore history, recent isotretinoin use, pregnancy, metal implants or a pacemaker, and any tendency to keloid scarring. If any apply, consult a doctor before deciding. Suitability and results vary, and the doctor decides at consultation.

Planning Potenza during your trip

  • Schedule early. Give your skin a few days to settle before photos or important events.
  • Protect from sun. Use sunscreen and avoid strong sun exposure while the skin recovers.
  • Pause active skincare. Your doctor may advise avoiding strong acids or retinoids for a short time.
  • Think long term. Because a series of sessions is often recommended for scars, ask how treatments could be spaced if you visit Busan regularly.

Frequently asked questions

Does Potenza hurt?

Numbing cream is commonly used, and most people describe heat and prickling. Comfort varies with settings and the area treated.

How many sessions will I need for acne scars?

It depends on scar type and depth. Many people need several sessions, and your doctor will explain a realistic plan.

Why are tips charged separately?

Different tips suit different concerns and skin types, so the tip is chosen at consultation and priced separately from the full-face treatment.
