Why RF lifting is popular in Korea

Radiofrequency (RF) lifting is a popular choice in Korea for people who want firmer, smoother skin without needles or downtime. RF devices heat the deeper layers of the skin, which encourages collagen to contract and, over time, encourages new collagen production. Three names often come up when visitors research RF in Korea: Thermage, Oligio and Alltite.

This guide explains how they compare in general terms. Thermage FLX is available at Daybeau Clinic Seomyeon. Oligio and Alltite are not on our treatment list, so if you are specifically interested in them, ask during consultation which RF and lifting options are available for your skin.

The three devices at a glance

Thermage FLX

Thermage is one of the longest-established monopolar RF devices, and FLX is its current generation. It uses single-use treatment tips designed for specific areas such as the face, eyes and body, and includes surface cooling while the deeper layers are heated.

  • Often discussed for. Skin tightening, crepey texture, overall firmness and the eye area.
  • Background. A long international history, which some patients find reassuring.
  • At our clinic. Quoted after an in-person consultation, because the tip and shot count vary.

Read more on our Thermage FLX page.

Oligio

Oligio is a Korean-developed monopolar RF device. It is commonly described as using a similar principle to Thermage, with its own handpiece design and energy settings. In Korea it is often discussed as an alternative for people comparing RF options.

  • Often discussed for. Skin tightening and firmness across the face.
  • Background. Widely used in Korea and nearby markets.
  • At our clinic. Not on our treatment list; ask which options are available.

Alltite

Alltite is another Korean RF tightening device. Like other RF systems, it aims to heat the skin evenly to support tightening and collagen production, and is often described as focusing on balancing heating with comfort.

  • Often discussed for. Early laxity, skin texture and maintenance.
  • Background. Newer than Thermage and used mainly in Korea.
  • At our clinic. Not on our treatment list; ask which options are available.

How to compare RF devices sensibly

The device name is only one part of the picture. When comparing RF lifting options, it helps to look at:

  • Your concern. RF is generally better suited to tightening and texture than to lifting heavily sagging tissue.
  • Shot count and tip. Quotes can differ because of the number of shots or the type of tip.
  • Genuine consumables. It is reasonable to ask whether an authentic tip is used.
  • Who treats you. Ask whether a doctor performs or supervises the treatment.
  • Comfort. All RF devices involve heat sensations; ask how discomfort is managed.
  • Overall price structure. Differences often reflect device licensing, consumable costs and clinic overheads rather than results alone.

Other options at Daybeau Clinic Seomyeon

If you want tightening or lifting and are open to other devices, our doctors may discuss the following, depending on your skin:

  • InMode FX full face. KRW 45,000.
  • ONDA 20,000J. KRW 89,000.
  • Titanium 30KJ. KRW 290,000.
  • XERF 300 shots. KRW 990,000.

These are first-visit prices in KRW, VAT excluded (10% VAT added at payment), checked October 2026. First-visit prices apply once per new patient per item. See our full price list.

Side effects and expectations

RF treatments are non-invasive, but they use heat. Common, usually temporary reactions include redness, warmth, mild swelling and tenderness. Less commonly, blistering or burns can occur, which is why settings and technique matter. Results usually develop gradually over weeks to months and vary from person to person. None of these devices can guarantee a specific result or replace surgery for significant sagging.

RF may not be suitable if you have a pacemaker or other implanted electronic device, metal implants in the treatment area, or are pregnant. Discuss your medical history with a doctor.

Frequently asked questions

Are Oligio and Alltite cheaper versions of Thermage?

They are different devices, not versions of Thermage. Price differences reflect many factors, and a lower price does not tell you how a device will work for your skin.

Which RF device is most comfortable?

Comfort depends on the settings, area and individual. All involve heat sensations.

Can I get Oligio or Alltite at your clinic?

They are not on our treatment list. Ask during consultation which RF and lifting options are available.

How many sessions are needed?

Many people have a single session and decide on maintenance later, but your doctor will advise based on your skin.
