Forehead Wrinkle Botox in Busan: Units, Prices and Possible Side Effects

Why forehead lines form
Horizontal forehead lines are created mainly by the frontalis, a broad, thin muscle that lifts the eyebrows. Every time you raise your brows to look surprised, read a screen or express interest, the skin above folds. Over years, and as skin loses some of its elasticity, these folds can remain visible even when the face is at rest.
Forehead Botox relaxes the frontalis so it folds the skin less strongly. Lines caused by movement, often called dynamic wrinkles, tend to soften. Lines that are deeply etched even at rest may improve but not disappear completely, and some people combine toxin with skin treatments for texture. A doctor will assess which type of line you have before recommending anything.
How units are decided for the forehead
Visitors often ask "how many units do I need?" before their appointment. For the forehead, this is a decision a doctor makes after watching you move your face, and it is not something we can set in advance. The factors include:
- Muscle strength. A very active frontalis may need a different approach from a light one.
- Forehead height and width. A tall or wide forehead covers a larger area of muscle.
- Brow position. Because the frontalis lifts the brows, relaxing it too much can let the brows sit lower. People with naturally low or heavy brows need a particularly careful plan.
- The look you want. Some people want a fully smooth forehead, while many prefer to keep natural movement so expressions still look like their own.
- Treatment of nearby areas. Frown lines between the brows (the glabella) are controlled by different muscles and are often considered together with the forehead to keep the upper face balanced.
Because of these variables, it is wise to be cautious about online advice suggesting a fixed number of units. Your doctor will explain the plan before injecting.

What to expect on the day
- Consultation. The doctor asks you to raise your brows, frown and relax, and checks brow symmetry and skin quality.
- Preparation. Makeup is removed from the area and the skin is cleansed.
- Injection. A fine needle is used to place small amounts of toxin at several points. Most people describe a brief pinch.
- Afterwards. Small bumps at the injection points usually settle quickly. You can generally return to sightseeing the same day.
The effect usually begins over several days and becomes clearer within about two weeks. Results are temporary and fade gradually as muscle activity returns.
Possible side effects of forehead Botox
Forehead Botox is a common treatment, but it is still a medical procedure. Being informed helps you recognise what is normal.
- Common and usually temporary. Tiny bruises, slight swelling, redness at injection points and occasionally a mild headache.
- Heavy or lowered brows. If the frontalis is relaxed more than ideal, the brows may feel heavier for a while. This is one reason forehead dosing is conservative and individual.
- Uneven brow shape. Sometimes one brow lifts more than the other, which can create a raised or arched look. A doctor can assess this at follow-up.
- Eyelid heaviness. Less commonly, toxin can affect a nearby muscle and make an eyelid feel heavier. This is temporary, but contact a doctor if it happens.
Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a neuromuscular condition, or take medications that could affect bleeding. Suitability and results vary, and the doctor decides at consultation whether treatment is right for you.
Aftercare tips for travellers
- Avoid rubbing the area. Doctors commonly advise not to massage or press on the forehead for the rest of the day.
- Stay upright for a few hours. Many clinics suggest avoiding lying flat right after treatment.
- Skip saunas and intense workouts that day. Heat and heavy exercise are commonly avoided immediately after injections.
- Plan a check-in. If your stay allows, booking early leaves time for a review before you fly home.
Frequently asked questions
Will my forehead look frozen?
Not necessarily. Many people ask for a light, natural result that keeps some movement. Explain the look you want during the consultation so the doctor can plan accordingly.
How long does forehead Botox last?
The effect is temporary and gradually fades over a period of months. How long it lasts depends on muscle strength, metabolism and the amount used.
Can I treat the forehead and frown lines together?
Yes, many people treat both. Each counts as a separate area on our price list, and the doctor will consider them together to keep the upper face balanced.
