A common question from international visitors

Many travellers assume that because Busan is Korea's second city, skin and dermatology treatments must be cheaper there than in Seoul. Sometimes a Busan clinic will indeed quote less for a similar treatment, and sometimes it will not. The honest answer is that affordability depends far more on the individual clinic and on how a price is structured than on the city.

This article explains what makes dermatology treatment more or less affordable in practice, how to compare quotes between cities, and what you can expect in terms of published prices in Busan.

What really drives the cost of dermatology treatment

Whether you are in Seoul or Busan, the same set of factors determine what you pay:

  • Clinic overheads. Rent, staffing and equipment costs vary by district, and some of this is reflected in prices.
  • Device and consumables. Many lasers and lifting devices use single-use tips or cartridges. These are a significant part of the cost.
  • Treatment dose. Shots, joules, units or cc determine how much treatment you receive. Lower doses look cheaper.
  • Doctor involvement. A physician-led consultation and treatment may cost more than a model where most work is delegated, but it gives you a doctor's judgement.
  • Introductory offers. First-visit prices are common in Korea and often apply once per patient.
  • VAT. Some clinics show prices with 10% VAT included and some without.

How to compare a Busan quote with a Seoul quote

To see whether one option is genuinely more affordable, compare like with like:

  1. Same treatment and device. Make sure both quotes are for the same device or product.
  2. Same dose. Compare shots, units, joules or cc.
  3. Same VAT basis. Add 10% where a price excludes VAT.
  4. Same conditions. Check whether a price is first-visit only, part of a package, or requires multiple sessions.
  5. Same extras. Numbing, tips, aftercare and follow-up can be included or separate.

Also include your own costs. If your trip is mostly in Busan, avoiding a return train trip to Seoul saves time and money, which is part of overall affordability.

Examples of published prices in Busan

To give you a concrete reference, here are some first-visit prices at Daybeau Clinic Seomyeon. All are in KRW, VAT excluded (10% VAT added at payment), checked October 2026:

  • Aquapeel steps 1 and 2. 9,900 KRW.
  • LDM regeneration mode 6 minutes. 19,000 KRW.
  • U-Pulse Fraxel. 25,000 KRW.
  • Pico Light Black Toning. 29,000 KRW.
  • Capri laser steps 1–3. 89,000 KRW.
  • Potenza full face. 99,000 KRW (tip charged separately).
  • Water Glow 2cc. 39,000 KRW.

First-visit prices apply once per new patient per item. The full list is on our price list. Treatments not on the list, such as fillers, threads or Thermage FLX, are quoted after an in-person consultation. We do not publish or quote other clinics' prices, so use the checklist above for any comparison.

Affordability is not the only measure

A lower price is only good value if the treatment is suitable for you and carried out safely. When choosing a clinic, look at:

  • Doctor assessment. A doctor should examine your skin and explain whether a treatment is suitable.
  • Transparency. Prices should be clear before treatment begins.
  • Communication. You should be able to ask questions in a language you understand.
  • Aftercare advice. You should leave knowing what to expect and what to avoid.

Daybeau Clinic Seomyeon is physician-led, with consultations in English, Japanese and Korean. You can read more on our dermatology clinic in Busan page.

Side effects and realistic expectations

Most popular dermatology treatments have some temporary effects, such as redness, mild swelling or sensitivity, and some lasers can cause short-lived dryness or flaking. Many treatments work best as a series, so a single low-priced session may not give the result you want. Results vary and are not guaranteed, and a doctor decides what is suitable at consultation. If you are pregnant or have a medical condition, consult a doctor before treatment.
