Why filler is often discussed "per 1cc"

Dermal fillers are gel injectables, most commonly based on hyaluronic acid (HA), used to add volume, refine contours or soften folds. In Korea, filler prices are often discussed per 1cc (1ml syringe), which makes it look easy to compare clinics. In reality, the price per cc depends heavily on the product, and the number of cc you need depends on the area and your goals.

This guide explains the main product categories, why prices per cc differ, and how to approach a filler quote sensibly.

Types of filler products

Fillers differ in their ingredients, firmness and intended use. Broadly:

  • Hyaluronic acid fillers. The most common type. They are made by a range of manufacturers, including Korean and imported brands such as Restylane. HA fillers vary in firmness and how they integrate with tissue, so different products suit lips, nose, chin or under-eye areas.
  • Calcium hydroxylapatite fillers. Products such as Radiesse combine volume with collagen stimulation and are used in specific areas.
  • Collagen-stimulating injectables. Products such as Sculptra or Juvelook are not classic volume fillers but are often discussed alongside them, as they aim to stimulate the skin's own collagen over time.
  • HA skin boosters. Products such as Skinvive use HA for skin quality rather than shape, and are not intended as contouring fillers.

You can ask during consultation which products are available and which suits the area you want to treat.

What affects the price per cc

  • Brand and product line. Imported and Korean products are priced differently, and premium lines within a brand may cost more.
  • Product characteristics. Firmer products for structural areas and softer products for delicate areas may differ in price.
  • Injection technique. Needle or cannula, and the time needed for precise work.
  • Doctor experience and involvement. Filler is technique-sensitive, and a doctor-performed injection is important for safety.
  • Clinic overheads. Location and staffing costs vary.
  • VAT and first-visit conditions. Check whether 10% VAT is included and whether offers apply once.

The amount needed differs between people and areas. Lips, nose, chin, temples, under-eyes and jawline all have different requirements, and many doctors prefer a conservative approach, adding more later if needed. That means a quote "per 1cc" is only half the picture; the total also depends on how many cc the doctor recommends for you.

Fillers at Daybeau Clinic Seomyeon

At Daybeau Clinic Seomyeon, fillers (for example lip, nose and under-eye filler) are quoted after an in-person consultation, because the product and amount vary. The doctor will examine you, discuss your goals, recommend a product and amount, and give you a clear price in KRW before treatment. Payment is made at the clinic on the day of treatment once the plan is confirmed. Read more on our dermal filler page and our lip filler page.

Some non-filler treatments that patients discuss alongside filler have published first-visit prices (KRW, VAT excluded, 10% VAT added at payment, checked October 2026), such as Jaw Botox 50 units at 9,900 KRW and Water Glow 2cc at 39,000 KRW. See our price list.

Safety: why the injector matters more than the price

Filler is generally well tolerated, but it is a medical procedure with real risks. Common short-term effects include swelling, redness, tenderness and bruising. Lumps or irregularities can occur. A rare but serious risk is vascular occlusion, where filler affects blood flow, which requires urgent medical attention. This is one reason filler should be injected by a doctor who understands facial anatomy and can respond to complications. HA fillers can generally be dissolved with an enzyme if needed, which some patients find reassuring; ask your doctor about this.

If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have an active skin infection or a medical condition, consult a doctor before treatment. Tell the doctor about any previous filler.

A checklist for comparing filler quotes

  1. Product name and brand. Ask exactly which filler is used and see the sealed box.
  2. Number of cc recommended. Compare totals, not just per-cc prices.
  3. Who injects. Confirm it is a doctor.
  4. VAT basis. Compare all quotes on the same basis.
  5. Aftercare and follow-up. Ask what to do if you notice anything unusual after treatment.

Frequently asked questions

Why are some filler prices per cc so low?

Differences usually reflect the product, brand, technique, VAT presentation or first-visit conditions. Compare product names before deciding.

Is 1cc enough for lips?

It depends on your lips and goals. The doctor will recommend an amount after examining you.

Can filler be removed?

HA fillers can generally be dissolved with an enzyme. Discuss this with the doctor before treatment.

Can I fly after filler?

Most people travel normally, but ask the doctor and allow time for swelling to settle.
