What lip filler does

Lip filler is an injectable treatment, usually using hyaluronic acid (HA), that can add volume, define the lip border, improve symmetry or hydrate dry-looking lips. HA is a substance that occurs naturally in the body, and HA fillers are gradually broken down over time. One practical advantage of HA fillers is that they can usually be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase if needed.

In Korea, lip filler is often approached with a preference for soft, natural shapes rather than dramatic volume. You can read more on our lip filler page.

Lip filler prices in Busan

At Daybeau Clinic Seomyeon, lip filler is quoted after an in-person consultation. The amount of product varies a great deal depending on your lips, your goals and whether you have had filler before, so a single fixed price would not be meaningful.

When comparing lip filler quotes in Korea, it helps to check:

  • Amount of product. Quotes are often per syringe or per cc. Make sure you compare the same volume.
  • Filler brand and type. Korean-made and imported HA fillers differ in price and characteristics.
  • Genuine, sealed product. Ask to see the syringe and packaging opened in front of you.
  • Who injects. Lip anatomy is delicate. Ask whether a doctor performs the injection.
  • VAT and conditions. Check whether VAT (10%) is included and whether follow-up or touch-ups are part of the price.

Listed treatments at the clinic, with fixed prices in KRW, VAT excluded, are on our price list.

Filler types

Not all HA fillers behave the same way. Products differ in how firm or soft the gel is, how much it spreads and how long it tends to last:

  • Softer fillers. Often used for natural volume and a smooth feel in the body of the lips.
  • Firmer fillers. Sometimes used for defining the lip border or shape.
  • Hydrating products. Lighter gels intended mainly for lip hydration and fine lines.

Brands commonly mentioned include Korean-made fillers and imported ones such as Restylane. You can ask at consultation which products are available and why the doctor recommends a particular type for you.

How to aim for natural-looking results

Natural results depend more on planning than on the amount of filler. Points a doctor may discuss include:

  • Proportion. The balance between upper and lower lip, and between the lips and the rest of the face.
  • Starting conservatively. Adding a modest amount first and reassessing is often preferred to adding a lot at once.
  • Shape goals. Some people want more definition, others more fullness or symmetry.
  • Your existing filler. If you have had filler before, tell the doctor what, where and when.

Some people ask about a "lip flip", which uses a small amount of toxin to relax the muscle around the mouth. It is a different approach from filler, and the doctor can explain which suits your goal.

Swelling, side effects and safety

Lips swell easily, so some swelling after filler is expected. Common, temporary effects include:

  • Swelling. Often most noticeable for the first day or two and settling over several days.
  • Bruising. Common in the lips and may take a week or so to fade.
  • Tenderness and small lumps. Usually settle as swelling resolves.
  • Asymmetry while swollen. Often improves as swelling settles.

Fillers also carry rarer but serious risks, including blocking a blood vessel (vascular occlusion), which needs urgent medical attention. Signs can include severe or increasing pain, blanching or dusky colour changes in the skin. Infection and allergic reactions are also possible. If you notice these signs, contact a doctor immediately. If you have cold sores, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have medical conditions, consult a doctor before treatment.

Planning lip filler during a trip

Because swelling and bruising are common, avoid scheduling lip filler right before photos or events. It is sensible to have treatment early in your stay so the doctor can check you if needed. Ask the clinic how to get in touch after you return home.

Frequently asked questions

How much does lip filler cost at your clinic?

Lip filler is quoted after an in-person consultation because the amount of product varies. The plan and price are confirmed before treatment, and you pay on the day.

How long does lip filler last?

It varies with the product, amount and individual. HA fillers are gradually broken down, so many people choose top-ups over time.

Can lip filler be reversed?

HA fillers can usually be dissolved with hyaluronidase if needed. A doctor will assess whether this is appropriate.
