The technology behind Ultherapy Prime

Ultherapy Prime is the latest generation of the Ultherapy system, a non-surgical lifting treatment that uses micro-focused ultrasound. The device delivers small points of focused energy at set depths beneath the skin. At those points, tissue is briefly heated, which is intended to trigger the body's natural wound-healing response and gradual collagen remodelling.

What distinguishes Ultherapy from many other focused ultrasound devices is its built-in imaging. The doctor can see an ultrasound image of the skin layers during treatment, which helps confirm the depth at which energy is delivered and avoid structures such as bone. Ultherapy Prime updates the hardware and imaging of the earlier system. You can read the clinic's overview on our Ultherapy Prime page.

Depths and transducers

Ultherapy uses different transducers (handpiece heads) that target different depths:

  • Deeper transducers. Aimed at the supportive SMAS layer, the same layer addressed in surgical facelifts, for lifting.
  • Mid-depth transducers. Aimed at the deeper dermis, often for firmness.
  • Shallower transducers. Used in some plans for more superficial tightening and texture.

The doctor chooses which transducers to use and how many lines to place in each area, based on your anatomy and goals. This is why the same shot count may be distributed very differently between two patients.

Common treatment areas

Ultherapy Prime is used on several areas of the face and neck. Commonly discussed areas include:

  • Jawline and jowls. For a softening lower face outline.
  • Cheeks. For mild descent of the mid-face.
  • Under the chin. For laxity in the submental area.
  • Brow area. For mild brow heaviness.
  • Neck. For loose skin, depending on the individual.

Not every area suits every patient. If your main concern is volume loss, heavy sagging or muscle bulk, the doctor may discuss other approaches. Suitability is decided at consultation.

Price at Daybeau Clinic Seomyeon

The listed first-visit price is:

  • Ultherapy Prime, 300 shots. 990,000 KRW.

This is in Korean won, VAT excluded (10% VAT is added at payment), and is a first-visit price checked October 2026. If the doctor recommends a different plan, it is confirmed at consultation before treatment. See the full price list.

When comparing Ultherapy quotes, it helps to confirm whether a clinic uses Ultherapy Prime or the earlier Ultherapy system, how many shots are included and which areas they will cover. Genuine transducers are a significant part of the cost of this treatment, so it is reasonable to ask about them. Also check whether the quoted price includes VAT, since some clinics display prices with VAT and others add it at payment.

What the session is like

  1. Consultation and mapping. The doctor assesses your face and plans areas and depths.
  2. Preparation. The skin is cleaned and ultrasound gel applied.
  3. Imaging and treatment. The doctor views the skin layers on screen and delivers lines of energy across each area.
  4. Finishing. The gel is removed and the skin is soothed.

Many people feel brief, deep pulses, which can be more noticeable over bony areas such as the jaw. Comfort varies; ask about comfort measures beforehand.

Recovery and side effects

Ultherapy has no incisions and most people return to normal activities straight away. Common, generally temporary effects include:

  • Redness. Usually fades within hours.
  • Mild swelling. Can last a few days for some people.
  • Tenderness. Some areas may feel sore to touch for days to a few weeks.
  • Tingling or numbness. Occasionally reported and usually resolves.
  • Bruising or welts. Less common, but possible.

Results, if they appear, usually develop gradually over the following months as collagen remodels. They vary between people and are not guaranteed. If you have implants or fillers in the treatment area, active skin issues, or are pregnant, discuss this with a doctor first. Contact a doctor if you notice anything unusual after treatment.

Frequently asked questions

Can I fly after Ultherapy Prime?

Many people travel soon after, as there are no wounds. Leaving a day or two for any swelling or tenderness to settle can make travel more comfortable.

Can Ultherapy Prime be combined with other treatments?

Sometimes. A doctor may discuss combinations with other lifting devices or skin treatments listed at the clinic, and will advise on order and spacing. Our face lifting overview explains the options.

How is Ultherapy Prime different from Shurink Universe?

Both use focused ultrasound, but they are different devices. Ultherapy Prime includes real-time imaging. The doctor can explain which suits your goals.
