How to judge acne scar options, rather than chase "the best"

Searching for the best acne scar treatment in Busan brings up dozens of devices and package names. In reality, no single treatment suits everyone. The most suitable option depends on your scar types, your skin tone, whether you still have active acne, how much downtime you can accept, and how long you will be in Busan. A more useful question is: which combination is appropriate for my scars, and can I realistically complete it?

This guide sets out practical criteria to help international patients compare options and plan treatment around travel.

Criteria for choosing a scar treatment plan

  • Correct scar diagnosis. Ice pick, boxcar and rolling scars, and flat red or brown marks, all need different approaches. A plan should start with a doctor identifying which you have.
  • Active acne control. If you are still breaking out, new scars may form. Acne should be managed first or alongside scar work.
  • Skin type and pigment risk. Skin that darkens easily may need gentler settings or methods that spare the surface.
  • Downtime you can accept. Most scar treatments cause a few days of redness. Stronger settings mean longer recovery.
  • Number of sessions. Scar improvement is gradual and usually needs a series. Consider whether you can return to Busan or continue at home.
  • Doctor involvement. Check that a physician sets the plan, chooses settings, and explains risks honestly.
  • Transparent pricing. Prices should say whether VAT is included and what is extra, such as tips.

Treatment options available at Daybeau Clinic Seomyeon

These treatments on our price list are commonly used in scar plans. Prices are first-visit, KRW, VAT excluded (10% VAT added at payment), checked October 2026, and apply once per new patient per item:

  • Potenza full face, KRW 99,000 (tip charged separately). RF microneedling for boxcar and rolling scars, pores and texture. See our Potenza page.
  • U-Pulse Fraxel, KRW 25,000. Fractional laser for scar edges and surface texture.
  • Pico Light Black Toning, KRW 29,000. For brown marks after acne.
  • Rejuran 2cc, KRW 139,000. A skin booster sometimes added to support skin quality.
  • Exosome 2.5cc, KRW 49,000. A skin booster that may be included for overall skin condition.

Juvelook, Sculptra, collagen boosters and fillers, which some plans use for deeper depressions, are quoted after an in-person consultation because the amount of product varies. Fillers carry risks, including rare vascular complications, so discuss them carefully with a doctor. Other devices you may have read about, such as Pico Fraxel or Agnes, can be raised at consultation to ask which options are available. See the full price list.

Planning scar treatment around a trip

International patients often have limited time. A few practical points:

  • Book the consultation early in your stay. This leaves time for treatment and for the first few days of recovery while you are still nearby.
  • Allow for redness. Avoid scheduling important photos or events for a few days after RF microneedling or fractional laser.
  • Be careful with sun. Busan beaches are tempting, but treated skin can darken. Use sunscreen, a hat and shade.
  • Consider flights. Cabin air is dry. Keep treated skin moisturised on the plane.
  • Plan follow-up. Ask the doctor what interval to aim for and what to continue at home.

Frequently asked questions

Which acne scar treatment is most effective?

It depends on your scar types and skin. Many people get the most benefit from a combination of methods chosen by a doctor.

Can I complete scar treatment in one trip?

Usually not completely, as scars typically need a series of sessions. One trip can start the plan and show how your skin responds.

Can I send photos before booking?

Yes. Clear photos in natural light help us give an initial idea, though the final plan is decided at the in-person consultation.

Is there an English-speaking doctor?

Consultations are available in English, Japanese and Korean.
