Seomyeon at a glance

Seomyeon is often described as the heart of Busan. It is the city's main downtown district, located near the geographic centre of Busan, and it combines department stores, an extensive underground shopping arcade, cosmetics shops, cafés, food alleys and a lively nightlife area. It is also home to many dermatology and aesthetic clinics, which is why the area has become a natural base for K-beauty appointments.

For visitors, Seomyeon's biggest advantage is simple: it is easy to get to from almost anywhere in the city, and easy to combine with everything else you want to do.

Reason 1: the subway hub of Busan

Seomyeon Station is where Busan Metro Lines 1 and 2 meet. That makes it one of the best-connected stations in the city.

  • Line 1 runs directly to Busan Station (for KTX trains and the international ferry terminal area), Nampo and Jagalchi Market.
  • Line 2 runs directly to Gwangalli, Haeundae and Sasang, where you can transfer to the light rail for Gimhae Airport.
  • English signage and announcements make the system easy to follow for first-time visitors.

Wherever you are staying, there is a good chance you can reach Seomyeon without a transfer.

Reason 2: easy to combine with shopping and food

An appointment does not have to take over your day. In Seomyeon you can:

  • Browse cosmetics shops. Pick up sunscreen and gentle skincare for aftercare, as recommended by your doctor.
  • Explore the underground arcade. Useful on rainy or very hot days.
  • Eat locally. Seomyeon's food alleys are known for Busan specialities such as dwaeji gukbap (pork and rice soup).
  • Rest at a café. If you are waiting between consultation and treatment, or want to relax afterwards, cafés are everywhere.

Reason 3: flexible timing for travellers

Because Seomyeon is central, an appointment can slot in around sightseeing in other districts. You might spend the morning at Haeundae, take Line 2 to Seomyeon in the afternoon, and finish with dinner nearby. Many clinics in the area keep evening hours; Daybeau Clinic Seomyeon is open Monday to Friday 10:00 to 20:00 and Saturday 10:00 to 16:00.

Reason 4: convenient for arrival and departure days

Seomyeon sits between Busan's main transport gateways. From Gimhae Airport you can reach it via the light rail and Line 2, and from Busan Station via Line 1. If you plan treatment on an arrival day, or a light treatment before you leave, a central location reduces the travel time on either side. If your flight is soon after treatment, tell the doctor so they can advise on suitable options.

What matters more than location

Convenience is helpful, but it should not be the only reason to choose a clinic. Before booking, check:

  • A doctor-led consultation. A physician should examine your skin and explain options, common side effects and downtime.
  • Language support. Can you speak with the doctor in a language you are comfortable with?
  • Clear, published prices. Prices in KRW with VAT status stated, and extras listed.
  • Honest advice. Suitability and results vary; a good clinic will tell you when a treatment is not right for you.

Daybeau Clinic Seomyeon is a physician-led clinic led by medical director Dr. Lee Da-in, in the Ion City Building, 15F (Room 1501), 74 Seomyeon-ro, Busanjin-gu, a short walk from Seomyeon Station. Consultations are available in English, Japanese and Korean. See the range of options on our Korean skin treatments in Busan page.

Frequently asked questions

How do I get to Seomyeon from Haeundae?

Take Metro Line 2 directly to Seomyeon Station. No transfer is needed.

Is Seomyeon Station easy to navigate?

It is large, with many exits and an underground arcade. Use a Korean map app such as Naver Map or Kakao Map to choose the right exit.

Can I shop before my appointment?

Yes, but avoid applying new skincare products just before treatment, and arrive with time to spare for registration.

Is Seomyeon busy on weekends?

It can be. Booking ahead is wise, especially as Saturday clinic hours are shorter.
